I really enjoyed working on the Web Design assignment. It allowed me to get creative and add things I wanted to add. At first, I found the website very difficult to navigate. I decided to start the assignment early simply because I had no idea how to create a website. I'm glad I did. It took me longer than expected to finish my website. I also had difficulties submitting my website. I could use my new knowledge to create websites for future classrooms or even teach my future students how to create a website.
Using Diigo was definitely an experience. I still slightly struggle with navigating the site. Diigo would be a great tool for teachers or colleagues to use when referring resources. Even though I struggle with it now, I will definitely be using it in the future.
I believe that it is very important for teachers to stay up to date with technology developments. Students will always be up to date with technology so it is important that teachers do the same in order to better teach their students. It would be hard to teach students certain things if we, as teachers, are unable to navigate devices or sites. A site that would be great for staying informed of technology trends would be Twitter. Social media is always the best place to stay informed with new developments.
I too had a bit of difficulty when I first started designing the website, but after a bit of playing around with it and looking around the website, it became easier to understand. I was working on it for a long time though, so that probably helped me get acclimated to the way the site worked. Twitter is a good way for teachers to get on board with new trends because they can access it everywhere on their phones and can access links to these trends.

ReplyDeleteHi Jade! I love your website! Some of the background pictures are a little bit blurry, but the overall design is great. It is also really easily navigable, and I like that you made the sections "parent resources" and "student resources." Short and to the point, as a good website should be! The alignment is also very aesthetically pleasing. Great job!
