I decided to visit a teacher's website from our partner school, FSUS. On this page, I can view information about the teacher, ways to contact the teacher, different class periods, and the purpose of the class. This information is very useful to parents that may need to contact the teacher via email. It also gives teacher an overview of who their child will be with for the year or semester.  https://www.fsus.school/Page/500 .      In my classroom, I expect to use technology to keep in touch with parents via email or through a teacher website. A teacher productivity tool that I will use in my classroom is Google Classroom. Google Classroom will allow for students to easy connect with their teacher and easily submit assignments online. I will also use Remind to keep in contact with my students outside of school.      With my experience using PBWorks, it was actually easy. It was very effective when working in groups. I like how we wer...

When I first began using Diigo, I was quite confused. I still struggle with certain elements of the website but I am starting to get my comfortable with it. I love how we are able to share links with one another and provide a summary of the website for the viewers. I just wish the website was easier to navigate.     This has been my first actual time blogging. One YouTube, I watch a lot of vloggers and it seems really easy. Blogging is actually the same way. It reminds me of journaling, or keeping a diary. We are just able to share our journal with others.      A Web 2.0 tool that I may use when teaching is YouTube. YouTube is a video blogging site where I can share instructional videos that I have recorded or share videos from other users with my class. Students could use these videos when they are struggling with a topic outside of class time. They could also use it to post their own entertaining videos.  YouTube:  https://w...

I have never been a huge fan of Twitter. I was never popular so getting followers was always difficult for me. It could be beneficial for business or celebrities but for me, it is not very useful. I find myself using Instagram or Facebook a lot. When I created my Twitter years ago, I interacted with a few friends but eventually forgot about the Twitter account. For this class, I had to create a new Twitter because I just could not remember the password to my old one and I did not use the email associated with it anymore.       Digital divide refers to the gap between people that can access and use technology. Some students have access to computers and iPads, others students only use computers at school. This affects education because the students with access to technology definitely have an advantage over the students witho9ut access. Some causes of digital divide are different societies, or a family's socioeconomic statu...

The ELA technology standard for 3rd grade allows students to broaden their computer skills. In third grade, students will learn to use search engines such as google and bing. Students will also access their online textbooks, blogs, and dictionaries. In this grade, students will begin using presentation features on computers. These presentation features include using word documents, Excel,    and Prezi. Based on my current skill set, I feel prepared to implement this standard in a classroom. Growing up with technology, I’ve become very tech savvy and very familiar with using different programs on the computer.      A resource that would be very helpful in a science classroom is keeping a record of investigations in a science notebook. This resource involves using a notebook in science classroom to help organize vocabulary words, charts, and notes. This resource will allow for students to be able to easily be able to locate certain labs or notes....
